Fencing for Sugarloaf Homes
Sugarloaf Key is about as laid-back as the Lower Keys get: canal-front homes, quiet residential streets, and neighbors who moved here for a little space and peace. A good fence protects that. Whether you want a private backyard, a pool barrier, or a clean property line, Island Fence will come out from Key West, walk the lot with you, and put together a plan that fits.
Sugarloaf lots come with their own details to think about — setbacks from the road, canals and seawalls at the back of the property, and gates that need to work for cars, boats, and trailers. We’ve been building fences in the Lower Keys for more than 25 years, and we’ll factor those details into your plan before a single post goes in.

Sugarloaf Projects
Here’s what Sugarloaf homeowners most often ask us about.
PVC/vinyl privacy fences for full screening from the street, or semi-privacy styles that let the breeze through and keep the yard from feeling closed in.
A fence around the pool area that looks good and fits your yard. We’ll talk through gate placement and layout during the estimate.
Black vinyl coated chain link or aluminum along the back of the property when you want a boundary without blocking the view of the water.
Gates sized for your car, boat, or trailer and planned to match the fence, so everyday coming and going stays easy.
What We Build
The same family-owned crew and the same materials we use across the Keys.
Built for the Keys
When your yard backs up to a canal, salt air and moisture are part of the deal. PVC/vinyl won’t rust or rot, black vinyl coated chain link puts a protective coating over the steel, and aluminum keeps things open where the view matters. Wood is still an option if you love the look — we’ll just be honest about the upkeep it needs out here.

Sugarloaf Key is in unincorporated Monroe County, and where your fence can go depends on things like setbacks and your lot. Island Fence takes care of the permitting and inspections for your project, and we’ll plan the fence line with those rules in mind from the start.
